Steven is an active performer. He has performed in solo recitals, masterclasses, chamber music festivals, orchestras, and ballet, opera, and musical theatre productions across the United States and Europe. He is a member of Bountiful Philharmonia, and also serves on its Board of Directors.

When he is not teaching or performing, Steven loves spending time with his wife Brynne (a fabulous pianist), and their three children Caroline, Hayden, and Ethan. He loves Utah Utes football, hockey, any kind of water sport, relaxing on the beach, and listening to the Grateful Dead.
